Matt and Alison KayMatt Kay BA (Hons) Illustration, D&AD Awarded Member

Matt has 17 years experience as a leading digital illustration expert for international brands, design agencies, indie creative ventures, and broadcasting and production companies such as the BBC, BBC Worldwide, HIT Entertainment. His work has secured him D&AD Awarded Member status and ranges from traditional and painterly to 3D and high-end visual rendering. As a practicing illustrator he is also represented by London-based agency Advocate Art. His editorial illustrations have featured in The Spectator, Graphics International, The Big Issue and various FT specialist publications.

Alison Kay DPhil (Oxon), PGCE, Cert. Journalism

Alison is a researcher/writer with a background in both journalism and education. She started out as an editorial trainee and then journalist with LLP (publisher of Lloyd’s List) in the mid-nineties before winning a three-year doctoral scholarship for the University of Oxford (2003). She held teaching and research positions in numerous schools and Russell Group universities before returning to media work in late 2009. She continues to hold an Honorary Research Fellowship at Lancaster University. Her client and published work is broad ranging, covering scholastic material, interpretation content for education outreach, journalistic pieces, profiles and programme research, especially with a history, heritage or education lean. She is also an independent non-fiction writer, recently publishing The Foundations of Female Entrepreneurship (Taylor and Francis: Routledge, 2009).
